<intro>

To many, Monte Kiffin was the greatest assistant coach in NFL history. When he left for the University of Tennessee to coach with his son Lane, it left a noticeable void in Tampa Bay's defense, the same defense that dominated the NFC for more than ten years. The fans were left with the impression that Raheem Morris -- the charismatic defensive backs coach -- would take over for Kiffin and, literally, right the ship.

And he did. Briefly. Morris was named head coach of Tampa bay soon after his ascension to defensive coordinator, reopening that void in the defense. With fans eager to know the fate of their historic defense, the Buccaneers hired Jim Bates on January 22, 2009. Bates, a former coordinator with the Broncos and Packers, planned to exorcise the legendary Tampa-2 scheme for a 4-3 scheme. His scheme involved plugging the middle with the defensive tackles, allowing the ends to take an outside rush to contain runs and rush the passer.

In the season opener against Dallas, the Tampa defense was uncharacteristically burned for four long scores. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo had his most prolific day passing, and the Dallas receivers played behind Tampa's safeties all game long.

Tampa then traveled to Buffalo, and for the second week allowed a player to set his career high in yards. This time it was backup running back Fred Jackson, who ran for 163 yards en route to a thirteen point victory.

The following week the Bucs were stomped by New York in a forgettable contest, but followed the blowout with their most competitive game of the season. They played the Redskins--the same Washington team that ended ended the Lions' near-historic 19-game losing steak. Despite the closest score of the season, 16-13, the difference was a deep touchdown late in the game to Santana Moss.

Similar defensive collapses followed against Philadelphia and Carolina. Late in the fourth quarter against the visiting Panthers, John Fox called 14 rushes on the game's final drive. It ate up eight minutes and 76 yards, and culminated in Carolina's game-winning touchdown with twenty-nine seconds left on the clock.

It was six blowouts too late before Tampa realized Bates's defense wasn't going to work with Cover-2 personnel that Kiffin and Morris had built, Linebacker Barrett Ruud--off a Pro-Bowl caliber season--was rendered nearly ineffective, and first-round defensive end Gaines Adams was shipped off to Chicago for a 2010 2nd round pick.

Finally, with a record of 1-9, Raheem Morris reclaimed his position as defensive coordinator. Since then? He has cut their points allowed by half, helped field a competitive team in five of six contests, and quite possibly saved his job for 2010.
<intro>
Even with Tampa Bay’s impressive victory yesterday over the Seattle Seahawks, the Buccaneers miserable season is mercifully coming to an end.

More good news is that they are in the running for the number one overall draft pick in next April’s draft. Question is: Who do you take?

The Bucs have so many needs, where do you start? Do you start at quarterback where there is an obvious need? Or do you go after maybe the best player in the draft with Suh from Nebraska?

Well let’s take a look at a couple of candidates the Bucs should consider for their number one draft pick in April.

Tim Tebow quarterback, Florida-For some fans, this would be an obvious choice. He is a former Heisman Trophy winner, he is a Florida boy and despite what others have said about him, he still passed and ran for a lot of yards as well. Problem is, Tebow doesn’t have a great arm. He might have the drive and mind of Peyton Manning, but he doesn’t have the arm Manning does. Manning torches teams with that laser arm of his and that what makes him the best quarterback in the league; Tebow has great legs, but unless his arm improves, he'll probably be a Matt Jones type playing tight end.

Colt McCoy quarterback, Texas- The most likely candidate to be the new Bucs quarterback. He has more of an upside at qb then Tebow. He is accurate, throws a pretty good long ball and doesn’t get ya beat. Good qualities right? Problem is, put a good pass rush on him (see Oklahoma and Nebraska) and he folds like a cheap tent. Not to say this is ALL his fault, because it isn’t. He doesn’t have a stable running game behind him, but even without it he still is a good quarterback.

Sam Bradford quarterback, Oklahoma-Bradford is another kid with lots of upside too and probably the best prospect out of all the quarterbacks. This kid threw for 50 touchdowns in his Heisman year and threw for 5k yards. Great arm, good kid, but you know what his down side is right? You guess it; injury prone. Whether Bradford can come back from his shoulder injury will determine his draft status. Personally, I think he is probably worth the risk.

Toby Gerhart running back, Stanford-Considered by some experts as the best running back in the country, Gerhart turn a lot of heads with his play this year. My problem with Gerhart is he is not the Adrian Peterson type of player who could turn this team around. He might be a great running back in the NFL, but is he a franchise player? Is he the type of player you want to invest in especially as a first rounder? I don’t think so, plus Gerhart might play professional baseball instead.

Ndamukong Suh defensive tackle, Nebraska- He may be the best player in this year’s draft. His dominance against the Texas Longhorns (a game where he had 4.5 sacks) showed how he can take over a game. Kind of reminds me of Demarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys or Ray Lewis of the Ravens. Scary thought for any team to know a kid this young can be that good. Suh is the type of impact player that you take a risk on even if he isn’t a quarterback. You take him in the first round; you can always trade for a quarterback or get a quarterback in the later rounds (like Tim Tebow).

Well, whomever the Buccaneers choose, for their sake they need to choose wisely.

    <intro>

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently sitting at 1-12 and if the St. Louis Rams, who currently sit at 1-12 lose out along with the Bucs the Bucs will be looking at the overall second pick in the NFL draft. Yes, that’s right if the Bucs continue on with their losing ways they will not even receive the #1 pick because of the tiebreaker situation. The Bucs have three games remaining on the schedule and I honestly see maybe two wins. The key word here is maybe.

What has occurred this season has not been totally unexpected, but I will say that I never thought that the Bucs would currently be sitting at 1-12 with three games remaining. I know this might sound stupid, but in my mind the Bucs are not as bad as their 1-12 record indicates. When it comes to the head coach Reheem Morris I actually feel extremely bad for him. Raheem Morris is an overall nice guy and from what I can see is a hard worker. The problem clearly begins with the fact that he is very inexperienced when it comes to being a head football coach of an NFL team. The Glaziers in my opinion virtually threw Coach Morris into the fire, and thus the results or the lack of results this season are what they get. Raheem Morris receives some of the blame, but in my opinion he is a great football position coach and even a great defensive coordinator in the NFL, but he is probably not ready to be a head football coach just yet.

When it comes to the talent on the football field the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lack some, but are not bare. Offensively, the back field of Earnest Graham and Cadillac Williams is by far means not the best in the NFL, but it is useable and with a better offensive line could have produced more. Josh Freeman is well, a rookie and was another individual on this team just thrown into the fire. Unfortunately, for Freeman and the Buccaneers he has regressed throughout the season instead of improved. In his defense it is difficult to succeed when you pretty much have one receiver that is worth anything in Antonio Bryant. Defensively the Bucs defense has been unlike the Tampa defenses of old. The Bucs changed back to the “Tampa 2”, but have still been getting gashed by the run or bombed by the pass, depending on what kind of offensive team they are facing.

Now, yes there is plenty of blame to go around when talking about what has occurred this season, but with that said the Bucs could easily have a few more wins. The football games against Washington, Miami, Atlanta, and Carolina in the first meeting could have easily gone the other way if it was not for key turnovers and bad coaching decisions. This would put the Bucs hypothetically at 5-8 with three games to play. Would it really make a difference in my mind yes, because at least the average fan could see improvement by looking at the record. The Bucs despite the current record have been improving. The young players have been growing this year, even though they have taken sometimes two steps back after taking a step forward.

The Bucs travel to Seattle who sits at 5-8 on December 20 at 4:15pm. The following week the Bucs travel to face the New Orleans Saints. The Bucs finish this season at home on January 3, 2010 against the Atlanta Falcons. I still remain positive, but I am also realistic. The Bucs could win at Seattle and the home finale against Atlanta, but realistically they could lose all three and end the season 1-15.
</intro>

    <intro>
The Buccaneers are sinking fast and were a team that looked dreadfully uncompetitive Sunday against the New York Jets in a game they lost 26-3. The team looked so bad in fact, that Raymond James Stadium was virtually empty throughout the fourth quarter of the Bucs 12th loss of the season out of 13 games.

On the bright side, The fifth straight loss keeps the Buccaneers tied with the St. Louis Rams, also at 1-12 on the year, for the worst record in the NFL and in the battle for the overall No. 1 draft pick next April.

The Bucs lost for the third straight game to a backup quarterback, with rookie quarterback Josh Freeman throwing three more interceptions and failing to get his team a touchdown for the second week in a row.

"I would never imagine having a two-game stretch like this," said Freeman, who had five interceptions against the Panthers during a 16-6 loss in last weeks game.

"It's all on me," Freeman said of their offensive struggles. "I'm the quarterback. I've got to find a way."

Believe it or not, the 124 total yards by the Bucs offense were not a season-low for the team. Against the other New York team, the Giants, the Bucs gained only 86 total yards during a 24-0 loss back in September.

The Buccaneers have been dominated by both New York teams this season and were out gained 707 total yards to 210 total yards and were a horrid 0 for 23 on third-down conversions combined in both games.

Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris brought up the fact that he was not surprised by the teams performance after the team had a poor practice on Friday.

After the game, Morris, the NFL’s youngest head coach, pretty much stated the obvious when he was asked about the past two weeks with Freeman throwing eight interceptions and the offense only scoring three field goals.

"You're not good enough. You've got to do a better job coaching, got to do a better job on the field," Morris said. "That's the bottom line."

Freeman finished 14 of 33 for 93 yards and he was sacked three times. He was intercepted by David Harris on the first play of the game, and then he was picked off in the fourth quarter by Darrelle Revis and Kerry Rhodes.

The Bucs did not have any first downs until the Jets Bart Scott was penalized for unnecessary roughness after Freeman was sacked on third down. The drive continued for eight more plays when kicker Connor Barth kicked a 43-yard field goal for the Bucs only scoring drive of the day.

"It was a sluggish performance. There just wasn't any fire," said running back Carnell Williams. "A lot of minor stuff, which is pretty much how the season has been going all year. For us to have guys just running free and not doing what we're coached to do, that is truly surprising."

Ronde Barber was the most surprised considering that the Jets are a .500 team without much of chance at the playoffs and the fact that they were playing with their backup quarterback.

"You lose 26-3 to a team that's playing to get in the playoffs, I think we should have a better effort, a better showing, at least," he said. "We didn't today."
</intro>

    <intro>
The Buccaneers finally got their first win of the season on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Bucs took advantage of every Packers mistake and came out with the victory. The win for the Buccaneers ended an 11-game losing streak, with their last win almost a year ago on November 30 against the Saints. The Bucs were wearing their fallback orange creamsicle uniforms in honor of Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon and the 1979 playoff team.

After this victory, maybe they should switch back to those uniforms permanently.

After their dominant pre-season, the Packers had Super Bowl aspirations this season, and there were many who agreed with that thought. However, the Packers blew an 11-point fourth quarter lead and the previously winless Buccaneers capitalized on the Packers mistakes and came out with a 38-28 victory.

The Bucs defense sacked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers six times in the game and all of them came in the second half. The Packers have given up a league-leading 37 sacks so far this season.

Buccaneers rookie quarterback Josh Freeman, who was making his first NFL start, was not stellar when it came to stats, but his 14-of-31 with three touchdowns and one interception were spectacular for a rookie in his first start in the NFL.

Every time the Bucs offense was in the red zone, they scored.

With just under 13 minutes left in the game, the Packers looked as if they were on there way to their way to handing the Bucs their 8th straight loss and an 0-8 record on the season after quarterback Aaron Rodgers scrambled for a 12-yard touchdown to go up by 11 and make the score 28-17. Rodgers completed 17 of 35 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, but the Bucs also intercepted him three times in the game.

After Rodgers scramble for a score, the Bucs did not take long to get back into the game when kick returner Clifton Smith tore through the Packers special team unit with an 83-yard runback to the Green Bay 17 on the ensuing kickoff. Just three plays later, Buccaneers rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw a touchdown pass to tight end Kellen Winslow in the back of the end zone. After the Bucs missed its two-point conversion try, they were only down by five.

That turned the momentum of the game right back over to the Bucs, and they never looked back.

The Bucs defense stopped the Packers' offense on their next possession, and Freeman led the Buccaneers 72 yards in eight plays and put them in front for the first time in the game when he threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to receiver Sammie Stroughter on fourth down. Once again, the Bucs went for two and Freeman found receiver Michael Clayton open in the back of the end zone giving the Buccaneers a 31-28 lead they would never relinquish.

The Packers next two offensive series, the Bucs sacked him three times, and had the game clinching interception, which was returned for a touchdown. It was Rodgers third interception of the game, and it tipped off receiver Donald Driver's hands and was snatched out of the air by Buccaneers free safety Tanard Jackson, who juked his way through the Packers offense for a 35-yard touchdown return.

The Packers held advantages in total yards, 404 to 279, and time of possession, 35:17 to 24:43, but the Bucs capitalized on every opportunity when they had a chance.

The Packers started out the game with a bang as Rodgers hit receiver James Jones for a 74-yard touchdown on their first possession of the game and he also led the team on two long touchdown drives. However, the Bucs never allowed the Packers to open up their first-half lead by more then a touchdown.

It was the Packers mistakes that led to the Buccaneers scores. After Rodgers' first interception of the game, Bucs rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to running back Derrick Ward. The Bucs second touchdown came off a blocked punt that cornerback Ronde Barber returned 31 yards for a score, and the games decisive factor was an interception return for a touchdown by safety Tanard Jackson.

The Buccaneers gained the momentum in the fourth quarter and held on for their first win. The Packers had numerous opportunities to put the Bucs away early in the game and make it a laugher, but they never did, and they paid for it in the end.
</intro>

    <intro>
I have been doing a lot of work in the community in Tampa with Ryan Simms foundation, “Simms Swag Soldiers”. It deals a lot with foster kids and underprivileged kids. We go over there and give them hints on hygiene and how to keep healthy. We talk about brushing their teeth, using mouthwash washing their hands regularly.

All of the kids received Buccaneers gifts once we were done, such as sweatshirts, t shirts, back packs, knapsacks calendars, and hats. The kids all had a good time and we had a blast.

The Buccaneers Rookie Club, which is where all of the Bucs rookies go out into the community and help out in some way. We have gone to the Boys and Girls Club, have gone to Sea World with some underprivileged kids. All of the Bucs rookies are required to do this by the team, but we all enjoy it and look forward to it. Last week we did a Halloween appearance for the kids called the “Zoo Boo”. We all dressed up in costumes and I went as Darth Mall from the Star Wars movie.

They had a haunted house and we went in there and acted as monsters and scared the kids. There was also a costume contest for the kids and E.J Biggers and Sammie Stroughter were the judges for the contest.

Roy Miller dressed up as a gorilla skeleton, Demar Dotson dressed up as the character from Scream with the mask and everything. It was very intimidating with 6’9” 315 lb frame.

I am also involved with “Hovan’s Heroes”, and we did a football camp for the kids last summer. We had a great time with the kids helping them to learn the game of football. We all had a blast.

I was also involved with “The GI Joes versus Pros”. We played X-box live video games against military people that were over seas in Iraq. It was great because they got to see their families over the TV and play Buc’s players on video games such as Guitar hero, Madden 2010, Call of Duty, and Modern Warfare.

My boy and fellow defensive end Gaines Adams was traded to the Bears which was sad for me. We hung around together and talked to each other a lot. He was also helping me a lot in adjusting to life in the NFL. But I realize it’s part of the business and could happen to any of us.

We are playing in London this week against the Patriots and we leave Friday. It’s about an 8 ½ hour flight so we’ll probably watch a few movies, play cards, and sleep until we land. The Patriots are a great team, but we are going to give it our all throughout the game and hopefully come out with an upset victory in Wembley Stadium.

Kyle Moore is a rookie defensive end with the Tampa Bay Bucs. His blog for www.playerpress.com runs at www.kylemoore94.com. <intro>
I was really hoping to play against the Giants this past week, but I came back to practice during the week and injured my knee on Wednesday during a special teams run through.

I have been rehabbing it every day since. The knee was a lot less swollen then they thought it would be. To rehab it I have been icing it, and working on my range of motion. I am doing one-leg exercises to keep it strong and have been doing a lot of quad work right now.

I should only be out for about 2-3 weeks and then be back on the field playing real soon.

I wanted to be at the game and on the sidelines, or to even to watch it from the stands, but they told me not to risk it with the chance of someone bumping into it or having some other problem occur that might cause further injury or prevent it from healing properly. So I went to bar instead to watch the game and I had to talk smack the whole time with the other patrons that were there watching the game.

The game definitely did not turn out the way I was hoping it would, we lost 24-0 to Eli Manning and the Giants. As I was watching the game, all I was thinking was that I should have been out there on the field to help my team out and to help to put some pressure on the quarterback.

Practices are going to be a lot different and tougher in order to break this losing streak and get in the win column and we better get ready to work and work hard. I don’t know what the coaches have in mind, but I am sure that the practices are going to be tough.

That’s what happens when you start out the year 0-3, changes are inevitable in trying to turn the season around, and turn it around quickly.

As I have said before, I’m used to winning and this is not easy for me.

    <intro>
It was disappointing that I hurt my groin right before the first game this season against the Cowboys. Because of that, I had to miss the first two games and I did not play. But it is feeling a whole lot better and I’ll be back at practice on Wednesday.

I’m looking forward to playing the Giants this week at home. The crowd should be up for the game and it should be a real live one. I’ve been ready to play in the real games and I can’t wait to get in the game and make a difference and help out this defense.

I was on the sideline for the first two games and I’m disappointed that we lost both games. It’s a new feeling for me because I have never lost two games in a row throughout my entire football career in either high school or college at USC. Losing is a feeling that I am not used to and I don’t like it. I don’t like to lose at all. I am used to winning and I will do whatever it takes to help the team get back on the winning track again.

I’m glad I’m back and that I can get in the game and help the Bucs win some games. I had two and a half sacks in the preseason, so I want to get in there and get some sacks for real and in the official stat sheet.

Even though we lost the games, the defense is getting better from week to week. It’s a new defense and we are trying to get the communication together between the d-line, linebacker and defensive backs. But we are getting better each day and we will have it all together real soon and be the dominant Bucs defense that the people in Tampa have come to expect.

The offense is putting points on the board and looking good, but we as a defense have to stop the other team from scoring points when we get the lead. And I have no doubts that we will do that very soon.

This week we play the Giants and I would love to get my first NFL sack on Eli Manning. That would be great and something I would never forget. The goal for my NFL career is to sack every Quarterback from all 32 teams and to start with Eli would be great.

The Giants are tough, they run the ball well and they pass the ball well so we are going to have our hands full. The Offensive will have their hands full as well. The Giants have a great defense line and they create a lot of pressure on the Quarterback, so Byron will have to play fast and get rid of the ball quickly.

I think that we will be able to give the Giants a run for their money, play a tough game and make it difficult for them throughout the game. I hope that we come out with a win for our fans in our home stadium.

    <intro>
I have been in camp now for five days and after the culture shock, things are going a lot better. The first couple of days were good, then my body got sore. I still worked hard and didn’t make excuses, but my body was sore from all the hitting.

The team started right off in full pads, unlike in college where we started the first few practices in shorts. It was unexpected and kind of took me by surprise.

This is a lot different than playing in college. Every day is a grind and today was our third two-a-day. We practice, then have meetings, then we practice again and then have more meetings. We’re working real hard and right now there isn’t a whole lot of free time.

We get up at 7:00 in the morning and usually don’t get back to our rooms until 10:00 at night with all the practices and the meetings. Then I go and sit in a cold tub for a while and then take a shower. It’s a long day, but it’s all worth it. I love it because I love football and doing what I love to do.

We finally got a day off on Sunday, which was a good thing, as the whole team was looking very forward to it.

I think I’m making a great impression though, especially this past Wednesday. They gave me a shout out at today’s defensive meeting after practice, which made me feel good that I had a better day today. I just have to keep it consistent and keep it going.

In my off time I have been mostly sleeping, it’s really tiring with all of these practices. We only get an hour or two of time off between the practices and the meetings with all of these two-a-days.

Sometimes, on the days that we only have one practice, I’ll study the playbook, or get on my computer, read my emails or play a game. Other times, I’ll go to the game room and play pool or some other games with some of my teammates.

The food here is awesome. We have a great chef who cooks some great meals for us. They will also make us snacks and milkshakes when we want in between meals if we are hungry.

It’s a lot harder than college but the good thing is that you don’t have to worry about school and term papers or homework, its all football all the time. Oh and the fact that I get paid now makes it better too.

This coming up weekend is out first preseason game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll get to play my cousin, Nate Washington, and my old friend and teammate from USC, running back LenDale White. It should be real fun. I’m hoping to be in the game at the same time as LenDale so that I can hit him and drive him into the ground, and then smile at him and say hello to my old friend. I want to let him know that I am here.

As far as rookie hazing, up until Saturday, the only thing I have had to do so far was to carry the pads and helmets of the veterans back to the locker room. I was sure that sooner or later I would have to get up and sing or something, but it all comes with the territory.

Well they actually hazed us Saturday. I had to stand on stage and sing a song. I sang “You Make Me Wanna” by Usher. You have to sing a song that everybody knows or they will boo you off the stage like Apollo...ha ha.

Overall, camp is going well and I am looking forward to the games and the season.

    <intro>
  I am very happy to be a Buccaneer and I look forward to a great season.

Being drafted by the Buccaneers was a great feeling. I had turned off the draft on the TV because I thought I would go earlier, I was half-asleep, and all of a sudden, I turned it back on and heard that the Bucs had traded up. Right at that moment, I got a call from Florida, and ran into the living room to tell my family. Everyone was cheering as well as crying and everyone was very happy. It was just an overall great feeling that I will never forget.

It was a dream come true for me. I have waited a long time for this to happen and I am very happy that the opportunity is finally here and that it is a reality for me now.

As far as the OTA’s, they went very well. I think that the coaches are happy with my performance and me in general. I made some great strides in learning the defense. The terminology is a little different from at USC, but it is basically the same. We played a pro-style defense at USC so it has been a fairly easy transition for me so far. Overall, they went very well.

It is a lot to learn with special teams and the nickel defense. I’m listed as the starter right now in the nickel defense, and second string on the regular defense. Right now, I’m just learning and trying to figure out how they want to use me and doing the best that I can.

Learning the playbook is the biggest transition from college to the pros. There are a lot more plays and the book is a lot thicker than it was at USC. The speed of the game is also a lot faster, but I am looking forward to seeing the speed of the game once we get into pads at training camp.

I think the team overall looks great. The defense is young and we are all real hungry so the unit should be back to its dominant form once again. With the team additions of running back Derrick Ward, tight end Kellen Winslow, and quarterback Byron Leftwich, I really think the offense is going to surprise a lot of people this season.

I have made friends and bonded with a couple of the veteran players. I have been hanging out with Gaines Adams and Dre Moore. We went out a few times together and I am getting to know them pretty well. I will also be going to a defensive end camp in Atlanta with Gaines and there will be many veteran defensive ends at the camp from around the league too. I am sure that I will learn a few things while I am there and I am looking forward to it.

I am looking forward to the season and my first year in the NFL with the Buccaneers.

Kyle Moore is a rookie defensive end with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. <intro>
When the phone rang on draft day and it was Coach Morris it was such as relief. The first thing he said was, What took you so long to answer the phone? We want to make you the next pick! I told him I had been waiting for this since my first visit, which was to Tampa Bay.

It was a relief and there was also a lot of joy. It’s a great feeling to have the opportunity to do something that not everyone has a chance to go through. It’s a privilege also, especially to stay in Florida where I’m from. Being drafted was big but also I felt like it was just the start of great things to come.

I was kind of starstruck the first couple of days, but after that it was just back to football. You know you got to do your job now, go out there and work hard every day and make plays.

The Bucs are a team that has always been known for their defense and to be a part of that is great. Being a rookie, whether you’re picked in the 1st round or 7th, everyone is an underdog and you have to fight to get to the top. At every position there’s a guy who played there last year and wants to stay there.

I talk to my old teammate Louis Delmas every day. He’s in Detroit going through what I’m going through and he’s doing a nice job.

I’m going out every day and learning new things and new techniques. As a rookie you know you’re going to have your ups and downs, so you got to keep the boat steady for the most part.

All of the vets have really helped me out. Ronde Barber, Aqib Talib. It’s like a big brotherhood. After the first couple weeks everybody is like family now and everybody is looking out for each other.

E.J. Biggers, a cornerback, was drafted in the 7th round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of Western Michigan University. He writes a blog for www.playerpress.com. Follow him on Twitter as ejbiggers.
<intro>
A good butt whuppin' never hurt anybody. In the case of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that's exactly what they got on Monday night. But I've got news for the Atlanta Falcons, it's a bad week to be facing the Bucs.

Monte Kiffin and his defense were pushed around the entire field against the Carolina Panthers, something not often seen since he was hired a decade ago under Tony Dungy. But it seems ol' Monte will be coming here to Knoxville as soon as the NFL postseason is completed anyhow. Neither he nor son Lane have confirmed the rumor, but many sources seem to think father Kiffin will be joining his apprentice to take on the SEC in 2009.

In the meantime, Chucky and the Bucs will surely bounce back to defeat the overachieving Falcons and will be on their way to a solid wild card spot at the very worst. Sorry Matt Ryan, come Sunday you will be treated like the rookie you are.
</intro>
